If you know me, you’ll know I’m a lot handier with a drill and a saw than I am behind a screen. But here we are — and I’m glad you’ve landed in my little DIY corner of the internet.

My love for all things DIY and Woodworking kicked off when I was around 14, learning from my dad as he built furniture and fixed up just about everything around the house. I grew up in the comforting chaos of sawdust, tools, and that unmistakable smell of fresh-cut wood. Over time, I realized something simple but powerful: if you can picture it, and you’ve got the right tools and mindset, you can build it.

As the years rolled on, I began to see the massive difference between the mass-produced stuff at big box stores and the handcrafted pieces my father made in our basement workshop. His work wasn’t just built to impress — it was built to last. Built with care, precision, and pride.

When my father passed away, he left me his workshop — and every tool in it. Many of the projects I work on today still come to life with those same tools, some of which are over 50 years old. That legacy lives on in every shelf, bench, and backyard project I take on — and in every tip I pass along here at the Den.

Today, DIY Den with Dave is more than just a workshop — it’s a place to share knowledge, spark creativity, and inspire others to pick up a tool and get building.
